👀It seems like this will be the type of series where more characters come into the fold as time goes on, an ever expanding cast of personalities. Lots of comedy and silly situations, but fortunately they're not pushed to slapstick enough to become problematic. Can't wait to start the next volume. That being said, I found it to be an amazingly fun book, with some shockingly adult situations for a work that would otherwise come across as targeted at 12 year olds. The further in the crazier it got and you get used to the crazy. I picked this up because another light novel kept name dropping this one. The very opposite of the work Yen Press has been putting out in their VN line. This continued for the first half of the volume. As I get older I read more and more simply for entertainment. Mixed among them are your typical Japanese stereotypes like a Yandere Witch. Nothing heavy, nothing too complex, very LIGHT. JNovel has recently entered the English light novel scene and this is one of their new titles. Pleasantly enough, it's a pretty decent one so far. I feel like the plot and dialogue got a bit muddy in the final chapters and thus my 4 star rating, but hopefully volume 2 brings things back up again. The book is only available as an ebook, which I find unfortunate as I like to have hard copies of my books, hardcover or paperback, I prefer both to my kindle which I reserve entirely for out of print books or cases like this where it is the only format available. Overall it was a very interesting start to a series and I'm keen to see where it leads. Well, above was my long-winded way of saying I am absolutely unashamed to include this book on my 2017 reading challenge. A light diversion that brought a smile to my face and kept me entertained throughout… and yes, I have already picked up book 2. This was exactly the sort of book I needed right now. I wish there were a few less fantasy elements but I guess the book is advertised as such and that's just what it is. The protagonist starts as someone who seems to be put in an unusual situation, a normal guy who won't be able to deal with it, but despite his seeming "normalcy" he will begin to differentiate himself from your typical generic protag as you go. If you have difficulty suspending disbelief, then you probably will have a lot of difficulty enjoying this bo My rating reflects that this is a LIGHT novel. Love interest at this point seems fairly obvious, so I'm hoping they throw a wrinkle into that measure. There's a lot of stylings too. Thankfully it found it's pacing and started clicking in the second half. Some are self explanatory, Mum, and Dad over his parent head, but when he starts school he starts seeing signs like vampire and serial killer. We also learned more about one of the girls, Takeuchi. More than anything her presence in the title seems an excuse to keep the overlong light novel title tradition in effect which, much to my delight, the book plays that trope for a joke as well. At times it even feels like James Bond with its action moments. When I started reading this one I thought it was kind of crazy but would settle down after a few chapters, it did not. My rating reflects that this is a LIGHT novel. This is the first of the light Japanese novels I've read, and it probably wont be the last. There's a lot of stylings too. Well worth the read if you're interested. After reading this volume I have so many questions, guess it's on the next volume. I picked this up because another light novel kept name dropping this one. This continued for the first half of the volume. It's a fun light read, ideal for when you just want something non-taxing. 2014年 11月01日 文庫 978-4-7986-0869-3 638円 姉ちゃんは中二病 5 最強な弟の異常な日常!? All in all I found the book entertaining from start to finish. Characterization is much better than I have come to expect from the genera, sure the characters are a bit 2D but they gradually fill out as the story progresses, so while there isn't a major decisive change in a character, I was left with the distinct impression that the characters might actually be real people. Well worth the read if you're interested. Pleasantly enough, it's a pretty decent one so far. My first thoughts were that the labels the character sees would ruin the plot. The further in the crazier it got and you get used to the crazy. If you like speculative fiction or fantasy at all, you should totally pick up a copy and read it, I doubt you'll be disappointed. This book started off with super rushed pacing, and really lacked in character back story. Thankfully his big sister who is a bit of a survival specialist, and has been sharing her skills with him. Still, these are minor complaints. I don't want to spoil too much, but you'll meet a lot of characters that will make you rethink the monster tropes, including some that break certain rules. He's the star of the show, and I like that in a medium where side female characters or silent hero types dominate. The labels are things like "Childhood Friend", "Zombie", and "Vampire", so expect some wild personalities. 2015年 08月01日 文庫 978-4-7986-1044-3 619円 管理人コメント. My only complaint is that it was over far too soon, I easily could have finished it in a day had I set aside the time to do so. It's pretty much a wacky, nonsensical story, yet is entertaining nonetheless. It suffers from some flaws, for example many characters are thrown out only to be in one scene no doubt set up for future stories.。
